Plot Summary & Review

Kate (Diana Silvers of Booksmart) was a basketball player in BIRDS OF PARADISE and only switched to ballet a few years ago to embrace her dead mother’s passion for dance. In order to compete for a contract with the Paris Opera Ballet, she has obtained a scholarship to a top Paris ballet school. She’s a clumsy American who doesn’t speak French and understands very little about the globe.

Marine (Kristine Froseth), on the other hand, has been dancing since she was able to walk, is the bilingual daughter of the American ambassador to France, snobbish, overprivileged, and lamenting the suicide of her twin brother. When the sisters first meet, they physically try to scratch each other’s eyes out, but when forced to share one bed in a dorm room, they unexpectedly become friends. They’re also competing for the attention of Felipe, the school’s best male dancer and Marine’s ex-boyfriend (Daniel Camargo). The girls strike an agreement, not entirely trusting each other, to help each other become the school’s top talent, in the hopes of forcing a tie. Who will win the scholarship in the end?
