Cinderella Storyline

Cinderella is a determined young woman who dreams of one day opening her own shop, “Dresses by Ella,” in her patriarchal culture. During the guard-changing ritual, she catches Prince Robert’s attention. The next day, dressed as a commoner, Robert goes to the market and finds Ella trying to sell her dress, which he purchases. He then invites her to a ball two weeks later, promising to introduce her to other people from around the world who will buy her gowns.

When the big day approaches, Ella is getting ready when her stepmother, Vivian, smears ink on her clothing and tells her that only her stepsisters, Malvolia and Narissa, are allowed to attend because Thomas, the vegetable merchant, has already expressed his interest in Ella’s hand. Ella is upset, but her Fabulous Godmother enters and outfits her in a dress Ella designed, complete with glass shoes, as well as transforming mice into footmen and a crate into a chariot. Ella attends the ball and meets a visiting queen, who promises to take her around the world as a dressmaker for her and requests to meet her in the market square the next day.

Later, Robert locates Ella, presents his sister, Princess Gwen, the gown he previously purchased from Ella and proposes to Ella. Ella, on the other hand, declines since she is eager to begin her career. She flees the hall at the stroke of midnight, tossing her shoe at one of the King’s attendants who tries to capture her.

Vivian tries to persuade Ella to marry Robert the next day, knowing the truth that her stepdaughter is the mystery princess. Vivian offers Ella to Thomas when she refuses. Queen Beatrice, Robert’s mother, convinces his father, King Rowan, that allowing him to marry a commoner is the correct thing to do. Following Ella’s escape from Thomas, Robert continues his search for her and finds her sprinting through the woods. Ella and Robert kiss as they proclaim their love for each other and make it to the market in time to show her benefactor her drawings, which she accepts and invites Ella to accompany her on her journey.

Rowan and Beatrice are introduced to Ella by Robert, who informs them of their desire to travel the world. Rowan proudly declares that Gwen (who has repeatedly shown an interest and ability in matters of state) will now be first in line to the throne, knowing that this will jeopardize his future ascension to the throne. Beatrice smiles as Rowan proudly declares that Gwen (who has repeatedly shown an interest and ability in matters of state) will now be first in line to the throne. Citizens of the kingdom assemble to watch the event announcing the Princess’s appointment and the fact that Robert and Ella are in love.
