Friendzone Storyline

Plot Summary & Review

Thibault (Michael Lumière) is a kind guy and a hopeless romantic. Like, he’s a really nice man. He works as a nurse in the hospital’s children’s unit. Fadily Camara, Manon Azem, and Constance Arnoult play his three best friends, all of whom “friendzoned” him in the past and now appreciate him for the kind, trustworthy friend he is. The group is gathered at the beach for a bachelorette celebration for one of their own, with Thibault – affectionately known as “Titi” by his buddies – serving as the lone straight man.

He comes to the assistance of Rose (Eva Danino), a baby apparel designer when she gets stung by a jellyfish after having a naked plunge in the water one evening. He falls for her almost immediately and the two become close, but it isn’t long before she makes it apparent that any romantic feelings between them are solely on his part.

Thibault is devastated, so he seeks the advice of his pals, who band together to give him a complete makeover: he works out, learns to dance, receives sex (and sexy talk) coaching, and, of course, a new wardrobe and hairstyle. He immediately starts dating a high-strung influencer (mainly to make Rose jealous), and it appears that his approach is working for a while. All of this deception, however, comes at a price, and the new Thibault makes a few missteps with his companions (and with Rose).
