The Last House on the Street

The Last House on The Street Movie 2021

The Last House on the Street is a horror/comedy hybrid movie full of palm streets, hot bods, and dry heat, and it handles all of these aspects with masterful control. It’s not your standard slasher because it focuses on Chad’s former relationship (which is soon devolving into stalking) as well as the relationship between the two females, which is one of the reasons it works so well. The entire plot of this film is utterly unexpected and beneficial for those who pay attention.

Plot Summary & Review

Sinister things start to happen when two attractive college ladies move across the street from Derek and Chad.

The life of a college student is difficult. Overpriced textbooks that you can’t return, difficult classes first thing in the morning, hourly pay troubles, and heartaches are all around you, both on and off school. It’s not for everyone, especially fresh graduates. Thanks to Adam Berardi’s fascinating The Last House on the Street, Chad (Dylan Garcia) and his roommate Derek (Jeremy Behie) are about to discover the hard way that college can, indeed, cost an arm and a leg.

When Chad, who has recently been dropped from both his college classes and his girlfriend, and Derek, who smells like chicken grease, move in next door to two hot chicks, Janet (Ashley Rene) and Chrissy (Mary Kate McCormick), their world of video games and beer drinking quickly devolves into discussions about how to get off their stoner asses and go introduce themselves to the fine-looking neighbors.

With the fun and somewhat freestyle knob cranked to 11, the beginning almost makes you think you’re going to be sitting through a different type of film altogether, but things begin to slow down after a hilarious scene in a college bookstore with a clerk (Ernesto Ortiz) who couldn’t care less – and the clues to the film’s horror origins are stumbled upon, but never easily identified. Part of the enjoyment is figuring out what’s going on.

Chad has no desire to embark on a new endeavor. He’s still stuck in the past, and Derek, who is ecstatic at the prospect of meeting them, doesn’t want to wait any longer. So, when he spots an opportunity to at least view some female skin, he jumps at it.

Big mistake.  Because what these two boneheads haven’t noticed about the girls next door is that men go in but they NEVER come out!

Given that The Last House on the Street is set in Arizona, it’s easy for these two friends to overlook several concerning details as they scrutinize the women – who first appear to us in a slow-motion pillow fight – and one of these overlooked details is that local men have gone missing. So, when Chad sees that Derek does not appear to be returning home, he must piece together the puzzle to figure out where he has gone.
